Tim Scott says candidates like El-Sayed ‘coming after our culture’

Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) on Monday said that candidates like Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic nominee in Michigan's Senate race, are "coming after our culture." Scott told Fox News host Sean Hannity that "radical" candidates "don't just want new policies." "They want to change the very DNA of what it means to be American," he continued. "They're coming for our culture, Sean, and that is what makes them dangerous." Scott called the upcoming November midterms "the most important midterm election in our lifetime" in a face-off between "communists and socialists against what makes America great." El-Sayed, a progressive, appeared on Fox News Monday night in an interview with host Jesse Watters. The two clashed as Watters asked the candidate for his opinions on topics like transgender athletes and gender-affirming care, while El-Sayed spoke more about healthcare, gas prices, the Iran war and immigration. Twice during the interview, El-Sayed requested for Watters to "just let me answer the question." "Can I just tell you –– you know what you didn't ask me about? We got a president of the United States who cares more about the drapes in a ballroom that shouldn't be built than he cares about the war he just got us into, or that he cares about the affordability crisis," El-Sayed said toward the end of the interview.
