Trump, Cohen set aside beef in radio interview

President Trump and his fixer-turned-enemy Michael Cohen have seemingly turned over a new leaf, with the president saying he respects that Cohen took back things he’s said. Portions of the interview played on Cohen’s radio show on 77 WABC radio in New York City Thursday. The rest is expected to air on Sunday. Cohen was Trump’s former personal attorney who turned into the star witness for the criminal hush money payment case against Trump in New York in 2024. He admitted in court to facilitating payments to adult film actor Stormy Daniels to cover up an alleged affair before the 2016 presidential election. “They weaponized you; they weaponized a lot of people, and I respect the fact that you recanted everything you said, and that's a big thing that you did,” Trump said during the interview. Cohen has since worked to reconcile with Trump. He told John Catsimatidis and Rita Cosby on WABC’s “Cats & Cosby” radio talk show last month that he had gotten a text from the president about six months ago. “Out of nowhere, when I was sitting with my wife at a restaurant, my phone buzzed and it was a text from that friend who expressed to me the president’s genuine empathy for the hell that I was being dragged through … I deeply appreciated that text,” Cohen said. “I actually texted the president.
