Trump teases diesel announcement, big move from Vought
President Trump teased an upcoming announcement Friday from Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought as well as one pertaining to diesel.  “We have a big announcement coming up on diesel,” Trump said, speaking at a Columbus Day celebration in the White House East Room.  Trump also said Vought would be making a “tremendous announcement” in the near future. “He'll be even more important than Chris if he pulls this off,” the president quipped, referring to Energy Secretary Chris Wright. “He's working on something that's going to be so good for our country.”  On Wednesday, Trump had hinted at a forthcoming announcement from his budget director.  "We have some big surprises coming up in another few weeks, right, Russ?" Trump said, speaking at an event in Baltimore. "He's going to be one of the very important people in the history of our country, in my opinion. He's got some great things happening." The teases come as Trump has been rolling out a number of new announcements ahead of the midterms, including initiatives focused on energy affordability as voters continue to struggle with costs.  Trump signed an executive order Monday during a rally in Nebraska, home to a competitive Senate race, that seeks to increase the availability of red-dyed diesel. Last week, Trump announced the South Korean government will invest up to $200 billion in U.S. energy infrastructure, including a natural gas pipeline in Alaska.
